“Hotel”: We know your hotel in the Japanese market, a very high profile, then in China, you as a market development director, what the strategic plan?
Mr. Tian Zhongcheng: We are a prestigious hotel management group in Japan, we managed several hotels in Japan with nearly 50% market share. We have two hotels in Beijing; in 2007, it opened in Tianjin, a, and we are talking about Hotel Nikko Dalian converted in 2005, is located in prime downtown location, magnificent scenery and beautiful city views to make income Harbour fundus. In May 2006 Nikko International Hotel officially became a member of the chain. Our hotel management in China, business is fully under way, the management team is also growing. “Hotel”: your hotel is one of the few Japanese-style management of Dalian hotel, what do you think will be a bright spot to attract local consumers, sales growth?
Mr. Tian Zhongcheng: We have 372 rooms, 6F above the room, 28F to 34F is a hotel dedicated executive floors, special meals and luxury features new facilities will bring you enjoyment and deep satisfaction. Hotel cylindrical body and floor, circular corridor, 14 rooms on each floor is designed around, the scenery outside the window between each is different, one a stay, we can see the panoramic view of the city of Dalian. 35,36 F in the hotel’s “sky club” is the most upscale of Dalian, the most authoritative members of the club, providing a variety of high-quality entertainment, dining and relaxing. The hotel has 16 different function rooms can accommodate thousands of people, including a grand ballroom of the dynasty, so that homes can organize your important events. Tanaka, Director of Business Development of Hotel Nikko Dalian.
Grand Hotels: We understand that Nikko Hotels
International (NHI) is a recognized hotel chain back in Japan. What
are your strategies and plans for China market?
Mr. Tanaka: JAL Hotels Co., Ltd., A prestigious Japanese
hotel company, operates dozens of hotels in Japan, where its market
share is close to 50%. Apart from two properties in Beijing, it
runs a third in Tianjin which was opened in 2007. Hotel Nikko
Dalian joined JAL Hotels Co., Ltd. In May, 2006 shortly after a
renovation in the previous year. The centrally located hotel
commands an unobstructed panoramic view of the harbor or city. As
business grows in China, the management team is getting larger and
stronger. Dalian is home to many Japanese corporations which offer
a stable customer base. On the other hand, a large number of
Chinese guests have been attracted by our service which is
specially designed to cater for Asian travelers. Initiatives and
strategies are in place for China, particularly North China, to
ensure that Japanese hospitality will help us get a slice of the
market that is currently dominated by properties under the
management of European and American hotel companies.
Grand Hotels: Hotel Nikko Dalian is one of the few
Japanese hotels in Dalian. What do you think are your most salient
features that will help the hotel grow business?
Mr. Tanaka: The 372 rooms and suites on offer are located
from the 6th floor upwards, including seven Executive Floors
(28-34F) of exclusive accommodation. The hotel offers the ultimate
in contemporary cuisine and a collection of versatile function
rooms equipped with up-to-date facilities. The cylindrical building
is quite eye-catching. For the nuances of a panoramic view of the
whole city, you are advised to try each time one of the 14 rooms
along the ring corridor on the same floor. You can relax and enjoy
yourself with entertainment and cocktails in the spectacular Sky
Club (35-36 / F). With 16 versatile function rooms, including the
1,000-square-meter Dynasty Ballroom that can accommodate up to
1,000 guests, Hotel Nikko Dalian is the preferred choice for
meetings, banquets and weddings. Japan is well-known for its
cuisine and seafood, and the hotel combines Dalian’s bountiful
seafood offerings and Japanese-style techniques to ensure an
ultimate gastronomic experience. Nobody will ever doubt the
perfection of service from a country where the notion of “service”
is so deep rooted. The Japanese style of service has been
introduced to Hotel Nikko Dalian, where you can experience the same
ultimate service normally offered only by hotels in Japan.
