New Year new atmosphere, I wish my dear readers a successful career, happy happy!
On a sunny Saturday morning, I went to see the casting of my
friend's long prepared TV Show at the art gallery on the south bank
of Suzhou River. The TV Show will be the first comedy about the
life of foreign residents in Shanghai, kind of resembles the style
of "Friends". While this TV show reflects mainly the the diversity
of Chinese and Western cultures, and the understanding and shock of
foreign cultures that local Shanghai residents experienced. This is
an entirely new attempt which has been unprecedented on Chinese
comedy movie stage, and my friend's perseverant efforts for it made
me inspired as well.
Looking back on the past year, many people might find themselves
went through similar situations that my friend did. Although
Chinese economy took the lead to recover from the global financial
recession, it's still a tough time for individual investors and
enterprises at the moment. The financing plans of funds are
postponed, rapid expansion supported by massive are slowed down,
and various industries suffered under the influences of the
economic trend. However, my friend kept working on his TV show
instead of giving up. Just like the most impressive lines I found
in The Count of Monte Cristo: Wait and Hope.
As the founding father of modern China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen said,
"Holding the belief of victory, then I'm capable of accomplishing
anything I want; contrariwise, I can barely achieve anything. "The
beginning of a new year is exactly the time for us to keep the
faith and start to fight for our dreams.
The major challenges that my friend has encountered during his
preparations for the TV show is underinvestment, despite I offered
some help in financing, it didn't help him out. Even so, my friend
was never discouraged and adhered to his ideal, moving forward step
by step, till the audition today. It's quite delightful for me to
witness the progress he made and satisfaction he got from the
creation of the TV comedy. As said by Ni Kuang in his own theory of
happiness, "A deed is blessed indeed, if it makes both yourself and
other people happy. "Making a TV comedy to entertain both the
authors and the audiences, what a joyful event for all!
